About Hilary Tyler
If you were a trailblazer in the world of podcasting, I may have written something about you. It was in October of 2002 when I first heard about podcasting. By the end of that year, I started my first blog with a Blogger account. I called it Podcrawl :: Scouring the Net for the Best in Podcasting. I then devoted entirely too much time to it listening to hundreds of podcasts and writing about them and their hosts. Other places where I’ve written about podcasting, in addition to Podcrawl.com, include The Podcast Network and Podcast User Magazine.
First podcast I heard: Coverville
First entry on my Podroll: Accident Hash
First commenter: Tim Elliott, after I posted my second review, which was for the Winecast
Also, I can humbly say that I co-produced Insomnia Radio: Atlanta 1 & 2 with Jason Evangelho, but he did all the work and I just recommended local Atlanta talent. Mark Hunter of the tartanpodcast will tell you that I helped him with his first RSS feed. Phil Coyne let me guest host his bitjobs for the masses podcast, which he told me was well-received based on its download stats, but we both know it was an atrocious first attempt. Others have given me equally flattering opportunities, but I won’t mention them, since they are still available for download. I also started my own podcast, which I appropriately titled No Expectations. I only recorded two episodes. Matt at Digital Detroit Radio said nice things about my slightly Southern drawl. But, the real truth of it all is that I am not a podcaster. And I’m OK with that. The fact that I tried gave me even more appreciation for the talents of the podcaster.
